Old Machine Makes a Comeback! Modification of Auto Doffing & Compact Spinning, Low Investment for High Returns

We are at our customer’s spinning mill. The synchronous retrofitting project of auto doffing and compact spinning for existing ring frames has finished installation and commissioning, and entered stable trial running. Dual upgrades are realized on the original ordinary ring spinning frames without replacing the main machine, achieving automation improvement and better yarn quality at the same time.

The auto doffing (collective doffing) system and compact spinning unit are fitted synchronously, with optimized matching structure for coordinated and stable operation.

• Auto doffing realizes automatic doffing, tube loading and tube sorting. It greatly reduces repetitive work for operators, raises production rhythm and eases the labor shortage of spinning mills.
• The compact spinning unit condenses fiber strands by negative pressure and reduces the twisting triangle. The finished yarn features less harmful hairiness above 3mm, higher tenacity, better evenness and controllable neps and thick/thin places. It is suitable for high-count yarn and siro-compact yarn.

During commissioning, our technical team worked together with the customer’s process and equipment engineers. We repeatedly calibrated negative pressure, process parameters and auto-doffing timing, and ran continuous machine tests to balance production efficiency and yarn quality.

For spinning mills, adding only auto doffing solves labor issues, while adding only compact spinning improves yarn quality. The synchronous retrofit of auto doffing plus compact spinning brings both automation upgrade and capability for high-value compact yarn, with much lower investment than buying new machines. It helps mills win high-margin orders for knitting, woven and dyed fabrics.
